Râșnov - eastern mediaeval roadBrașovLost and foundRucăr-Bran corridorOld RoadsOld road departing from the hillfort Râșnov and heading the mountain. It is still relatively well preserved on some sections, especially where it crosses hone stones, where the track of the carts' wheels are imprinted. The old rod is published from 2014, but not protected. It passes immediately below the Dino park. No, just cleaning some sectors better visibleE. Teodor
Posada - battlefield of the WW1ArgeșKnown but redocumentedRucăr-Bran corridorFirst World WarPosada Pass was fortified in 1915, one year before Romania joined Entente in the First World War, as the main defensive position along Rucăr-Bran corridor. Most of those positions are now under the village Podu Dâmboviţei. Nevertheless, the area between the pass and Dâmboviţa Gorge (22 ha), is still outside the real estate development and should be protected. The area is organized in three lines and is supported by 4 light cannons. A 450 m trou-de-loup (7 m wide) is making the front line, and it is followed by two complete trenches, closing the gap between the pass and the gorge, summing 1882 fire-line trenches and other connection trenches. This well preserved battlefield is very characteristic for the age.
Note that under the name 'Posada' there are several battles recorded for the Middle Ages and these 22 hectares could preserve also older remnants of the military history.

Posada - old roadArgeșNew discoveryRucăr-Bran corridorOld roadIn Posada Pass the new National Route (finished 1892) is crossed at right angle by the old route, coming from Scărişoara (from west). The old road is very well preserved for 190 m, being 8.5 m wide, descending a relatively steep slope. Its continuation is following a long street of the village, down to the Dâmboviţa River ford. Very likely the old bridge (giving the name of the village) is NOT the known stone bridge of our days, being located about 65 m downstream.E. Teodor
Oratea-drum anticArgeșNew discoveryRucăr-Bran corridorOld roadsThe eastern plateau of Oratea, where the Roman settlement is located, could not use the road made west of the fortress, because there is no connection (see illustration, 'central road'). Therefore, an ancient way should climb the cliff of Oratea and was identified just below the settlement. You can see relatively well 126 m of its length, in the upper part of the slope, the middle part being covered with rolled stones. The entire route can be yet guessed. The lower part is on the same track as the later, medieval road.noE. Teodor
